Velvet That Packs a Punch

Hey friends and happy Saturday!

It’s been a crazy week and I am so glad it’s the weekend. I have shared a few photos on this look on Instagram, but wanted to dedicate a blog post to the CUTEST velvet dress from one of my favorite brands. It’s current on sale for under $40 and I am absolutely obsessed.

Well, I Stitched a Fix

A big THANK YOU to Stitch Fix for sponsoring this post!

Happy Wednesday, friends, and thanks for stopping by!

I am typically hesitant to let others style or pick things out for me – if I’m being honestly about myself, I’m very PICKY! However, I relinquished control of to the Stitch Fix team, and my stylist, to add some key pieces to my wardrobe for the upcoming season!

I was so happy to see that Stitch Fix carries some AMAZING brands, and they really studied the information I provided and they included some GORG Lele Sadoughi flower studs in my fix. This personal styling service is centered about the client – who you are, selecting unique pieces to fit your style, your body (SF carries Women’s sizes 0-24W and XS-3X, Maternity and Petite, and Men’s sizes XS-3X), and your budget (Stitch Fix offers clothing, shoes and accessories, ranging in price from $28 – $298. All you have to do is set your preferred budget by category in your Style Profile so your Stylist can find the right pieces for your preferences).

If interested in scheduling your own Fix, you pay $20 for a scheduling fee, and it can apply to anything you keep. Even more exciting, if you keep all of your Stylist Picks, you get a 25% discount.

Returns are super easy & free. Keep what you love, send back the rest in your pre-paid envelope at any USPS mailbox. Plus, no subscription is required, you can get a Fix anytime you want – every few weeks, once a month or every season.

Here is my styled look, featuring this GORG plum sweater with braided sleeves and my new Lele earrings!

Here’s Looking at you, Houston

Hey y’all and welcome back to That Blonde Rebel!

Last week marked my 1 year anniversary of moving to Houston. It’s been an awesome, wild, and surprising year filled with highs and lows and I thought I’d share what I’ve learned about myself and this city.

My last year in San Antonio was one of the hardest, saddest years of my life. Everything at school (former high school English teacher) felt like it was crumbling around me, my mom and I found her best friend passed away, and my anxiety and sadness was sending me into a downward spiral. My family and friends encouraged me to make a change and Houston was the logical place to go as it was close-ish to home, and I had both friends from high school and college here. Within a month of living here, Harvey hit. I was about to start a brand new job in corporate America and Houston was devastated by the flood. If there’s anything I’ve learned since moving here, it is that there is good in the world, we are resilient, and at the end of the day, it will be okay, maybe not right in that moment, but things will be okay. I’ve learned to be strong, to bet on myself, and know that every single day I am growing and learning in some way, whether it’s emotional/mental growth, career growth, or blogging growth, I am proud of the person I see in the mirror today. This city has brought out the best in me, encouraging me to meet new people, try new things, and branch out. I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store. Every experience (both good and bad, happy and tragic) leading up to this big move to humid Houston has prepared me for the hiccups and triumphs this life has to offer. I’ve got to say though, I’m definitely ready for more triumphs!

That’s all, folks!
