Nordstrom Rack/Forever 21 Haul

Well, I hit the shopping jackpot this weekend y’all. THE. SHOPPING. JACKPOT.

I ventured home to San Antonio this weekend to see my cutie pie parents and to get my hair done, and stumbled across some amazingly priced items at Nordstrom Rack and Forever 21. I saved SO much money at Rack (each thing I picked up – name brand pieces – ranged from $17 to $60), I had to really edit my cart before checking out because I wanted it all! Plus, nothing I got at Forever 21 was over $28. WINNING FOR SURE!

Sharing what I picked up below. Needless to say, I’m done shopping for shoes for the rest of the year lol

Shop: Fuzzy Blue Sweater, Blush Cutout Booties, Kimono, Hairspray, Earrings,           Tennis Shoes, Cognac Booties, Ribbed skirt, Colorblocked Mini Skirt, Pink SlidesCutout Sweater, Snakeskin Flats

Any great deals you’re finding out there right now? I’d love to hear!

Happy Sunday!

Why Wrap Dresses Are Universally Flattering

Why Wrap Dresses Are Universally Flattering

If there’s one type of clothing in my closet that I go to time and time again, it’s the wrap dress. From knee length, to midi, to maxi, I’m ALL ABOUT a wrap!

On curvy girls, a wrap is a great piece, because for a hourglass frame, it highlights your smallest portion, but balancing both the bust and hips.

See below for reference and if y’all would like a post on my current fave wrap dresses, let me know!

Fall Transitions

We are well into September now and I for one am so excited to transition to cooler tones and sweater weather pieces!

Now we are not there (by any means) yet for sweater weather, but dark florals are a perfect place to start.

I absolutely love this pleated skirt and thought it was so fun to pair my beloved Gucci belt with it. I love mixing high and low end pieces for a pulled together look.

Sometimes we get down, am I right? Could be a bad day at work, could be a fight with your best friend, could just be waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

Sharing y’all’s tips from Stories a few weeks back for when you’re having a bad day:

  • Make a list of things you did well
  • Do something kind for someone else (acts of service – put kindness out into the universe)
  • Enjoy a glass of wine and get to bed early
  • Treat yourself – from a chocolate shake, to a massage, to a new pair of earrings, treat yourself to something that will put a smile on your face!
  • Call your mom (or best friend) – there’s nobody that knows you better and sometimes just talking out what’s bothering you with someone who has your absolute best interest at heart is calming
  • Get outside and get your blood pumping. Go for a walk, a run, a cycling class. Release those endorphins, girl!
  • Take a hot bath
  • Pray
  • Write a journal entry of all the things you’re grateful for
  • Turn on your favorite song and D-A-N-C-E

I hope this list helps you if you’re feeling down or need a pick-me-up.

Create your own sunshine, friends!

That Friday Feeling

Happy Friday, y’all. Wow, does it feel good to be here. This week has been nuts. Still feeling sick, working, and I came home two nights ago to find water and mold on the walls and ceiling of my apartment. Which led to a full blown panic and sub sequential breakdown on Instagram Stories (if you didn’t see it, I’m glad they go away after 24 hours because I just straight up lost it lol). It turns out the compressor in my AC stopped working, letting lots of moisture and air causing the mold. I’m so glad this is fixable and doesn’t require me to move. No one should be moving in the city of Houston in July. It’s just too damn hot.

So here we are. After all that, it’s Friday and we made it! I’m ready for it to be 5:00 because I’m headed to Austin with my mom for a gals weekend getaway and I’m getting pampered with a massage on Saturday, so definitely looking forward to that!

On a lighter note, I’m so happy to be sharing a new look with y’all. It involved pleats, and florals, and pink, oh yea!

Scroll through to check it out!
