Chicago Trip Recap

Hi friends, long time no blog post! Between moving, adjusting to working fully remote, and my latest trip to Chicago, life has been a whirlwind!

If you didnโ€™t know, I grew up in a suburb of Chicago before moving to Texas! My sister moved back after college and most of my aunts, uncles, and cousins are scattered throughout the Chicagoland area!

So happy to share my trip recap below!

My cousin got married in a small ceremony earlier this year and threw an intimate reception for 100 guests of friends and family. It was so fun (and the reason for the trip).

Letโ€™s chat all my outfits and good eats of the weekend:

Shop: sweater, jeans, bag, sneakers

I thought the weekend was supposed to be way cooler than it ended up being (wishful thinking maybe lol)

We made our way downtown to do some shopping! We ended up walking over to the CUTEST spot for lunch. Blue Door Kitchen and Garden is aesthetically gorgeous and the food was incredible. My sister and I split the buttermilk fried chicken (incredible) and mashed potatoes. We also had some rosรฉ thatโ€™s bottled specifically for the restaurant. We treated ourselves to the hummingbird cake for dessert and wow oh wow! Talk about delicious!

Then we made our way back to my sisterโ€™s place to get ready for the party!

The party was at Loft Lucia in the West Loop and had the most gorgeous rooftop for the cocktail hour!

Shop: hoops, dress (skirt actually that i wore as a dress), shoes, clutch (YSL), tennis bracelet
Cousins celebrating Elena and Carlo!
Weโ€™re a family that loves to dance!

The next day, we were feeling rough from all the dancing. My sister and I felt like our feet had a pulse! So we took it easy, watched college football, and doordashed some Burger King and we have no regrets about that.

We met our family over at a casual pizza spot, Dโ€™Agostinoโ€™s in Southport for an easy dinner!

Shop: dress, hat, bag, booties

We came home and watched The Last Light on Peacock (if you liked Jack Ryan, youโ€™ll like this!)

On Sunday, we pulled ourselves together for walking around Lakeview for a street festival and shopping. I found the most perfect powder blue hat at a vendor and decided to pop it on as it went with my light sweater perfectly. We went over to Crosboyโ€™s Kitchen for lunch and we started with some spinach artichoke dip and I got a fried egg sandwich on rye bread. Talk about yum!

Alice and Wonder Boutique
Shop: sweater, ring, huggie earrings

I hope yโ€™all enjoyed my Chi town recap for a quick weekend trip!
