Berry Cool

There’s something about the end of September/beginning of October that holds so much excitement. For one, I don’t start sweating the minute I walk out of the house (which almost feels like a dang miracle). For another, I’m paler which means cooler colors give me a more dramatic look. Like this off the shoulder blouse in a rich berry color, for instance.

While it hasn’t completed cooled off down here in Southeastern Texas (aka humid Houston), I thought I’d share an outfit that could help you transition into one of my absolute favorite seasons!

Hello, beautiful people!

I am so sorry I have been MIA on the TBR lately! It’s been a whirlwind. Besides the craziness of Hurricane Harvey, I also started a new job and have been adjusting to that corporate life.

Sooooo thank you for your patience and without further ado… Here’s a denim and gingham look that will easily transition to fall. Switch the flats to boots and add different earrings and a darker lip!

I am feeling gone with the wind fabulous, honey!

This amazing red dress really does it for me y’all! It’s swooshy, pleated, has amazing details, and pops against this pale skin and blonde hair. I also KNOW, with zero hesitation, that it would look good on ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, every shade and shape would benefit from a dress like this.

My gal pal/photographer extraordinaire, Caroline Behrens, told me to let loose and and I think it’s fair to say, based on these silly and happy expressions I’m sporting, that I did. Walking around, I received lots of heart eyes and I know it was only for my dress!

There are several pieces of clothing that can stand the test of time and are always a DO.

The Wrap Dress is one of those items.

I recently collaborated with Leota New York, an American clothing company that prides itself on three things: 1. They are body inclusive, making the same item in the same print for ALL sizes (insert clap emoji) 2. They are made in the USA, baby! and 3. These breathable fabrics come in great prints!

Typically, the wrap dress is perfect work attire. But what if you can’t stop by at home and change before meeting your girls for a desperately needed glass of bubbly?

I added studded heels in a cognac color, gold accessories, and a statement earring. I also opted for a clutch instead of the usual work tote. Pop on a bright lip and you are good to go!

I have to be honest about something.

In the past, I never really liked mixing primary colors with pastels.

HOWEVER, I have matured and grown to LOVE mixing different color palettes.

This pink top is AMAZING and just makes me happy. I may or may not have also gotten it in a blue gingham.

Happy Humpday, beautiful people!

As Fall starts to approach, I think it’s important we talk the D-word. Yes, I’m talking about denim, y’all!

I always love a good deal and forever21 and Old Navy are great places to shop (the Rockstar jeans from ON are great!). But I’m always willing to spend a little more for good, long-lasting jeans. I hit the JACKPOT when Khloe Kardashian released her line, Good American.

Good American. Size inclusive, diverse washes and styles. They feel like Spanx and suck me in. I was SOLD. Plus, Nordstrom carries them so bring on all the Nords points.

There are so worth the price and no more expensive than any other designer brand of jeans. A tip about sizing, if you are a 0-10, go down a size, if you are a 10+, I’d size up! Hope that helps y’all. My whole look is linked below!

Happy Thursday, you beautiful people!

Living in Texas doesn’t always require layering (especially when you are in San Antonio or Houston). I was in an off the shoulder top and barefoot on Christmas Day last year (hello global warming)! So I keep it pretty easy and flowy when it comes to light layering.

Like this floral duster. Throw it over a v neck tee or tank and you just elevated the look!

Also, if you haven’t noticed, I love to mix high and low pieces I like to save my money for the investment staples of my wardrobe (i.e. good denim and high-end bags), so it doesn’t hurt that my gemini necklace is on sale for less than $24 and my flat zip double strap flats are $17.50! Happy Tuesday, y’all!

I can’t believe it is already August. Where has Summer gone?

Pink is obviously one of my favorite colors and how could it not be, when it looks good on any skin tone or paired with any hair color?

I thought pairing this pink top with my Lele Sadoughi watercolor crystal Lily earrings would be a good combination, and with some fun lucite sunnies, I think I was correct.
