Intention Check-in – February

Here we are. And yes. I know it’s already March. But I thought I’d circle back on those intentions started on January 1st and update y’all. on my progress (or lack thereof).

February was an absolute whirlwind and for the last week and a half of it, I was fitting an upper respiratory infection. When you’re sick, everything feels off, am I right? Your sleep schedule, your appetite, your day to day responsibilities. But I’m on the mend and determined to make March a great month! Before we dive into Spring though, let’s recap my intentions for February..

  1. Pitch myself with purpose – This is going really well! I’ve had the chance to partner up with some great brands this past month like HUM Nutrition, Eloquii, and Maree Pour Toi. I feel very lucky to produce content for y’all and share the things I’m trying out and loving. And that’s not to say there hasn’t been rejection. There has been PLENTY! However, I’m working hard and know that what’s meant for me will come my way. I’ve got more in the works for March and am excited to continue my partnership with Jessica London Style. If you’re a blogger wondering where to start in terms of building relationships with brands, I would definitely check out Emma’s Edition. She provides free step by step advice on how to build your platform. Check her out here!
  2. Save more, spend less – Y’all. THIS IS HAPPENING and I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m eating at home and cooking for one. Nothing fancy, believe me, but I’m doing it! I’ve also cut back on the spending on my wardrobe. I’ve found trendy pieces that are inexpensive on sites like Shein. And y’all know I love me some Old Navy! I’m also going to be transparent and say that the collaborations mentioned above have also helped cut down on my spending. Thinking ahead though, March is going to be an expensive month as I’m in search of two bridesmaid dresses for two weddings I’m in in June and hosting a bridal shower for one of my bride bffs. I’m cohosting this shower with two other gals and was thinking it would be fun to do a post on how to throw a shower on a budget!
  3. Be more focused on self-care – My anxiety was still on a rager through most of February, but I’ve been using meditation to help me get ready for bed and the essential oils I’ve been using have also helped quiet the mind when it seems like it just can’t catch a breath. What I’d like to do this month is incorporate some walking and exercise into my self-care. Whether it’s 20 minutes on a treadmill or a walk around the neighborhood, I have to stop being so stagnant and sedentary. Will report back on this at the end of March.
  4. Be open to possibilities – Absolutely NOTHING to report here and honestly, I should be focusing more on myself and getting into a good head space. I’ve got to get myself on the up and up before thinking about dating. Am putting this on the back burner and will revisit when I feel like I’m ready.

Intention Check In

Well, friends, it’s the last day of the first month of the new year! We set those intentions for the new year and it’s time to check in… how are we doing?

Below are the four intentions I set for 2019 and an update on each.

1. Pitch myself with purpose – This has actually had a good start! I’ve got some fun partnerships coming up that I’m super excited to share with y’all. I’ve put myself out there, dove into my blogger stats, and have been more strategic in determining my goals and working for what I want to build into That Blonde Rebel.  Can’t wait to see what February brings!

2. Save more, spend less – I’ve been better about saying no. No, you don’t need that really fantastic Hermes bracelet. You already have one. Put the money aside. Also, you will definitely be having FOMO of your friends going to Mexico in a few months for your college bestie’s bachelorette, but you’re being realistic and your savings account is going to thank you in the long run. Last week, I cooked dinner for myself three times during the work week. That is progress. This week? Not so much, so a bit of a regression, but will be resetting once I get to the grocery store and can start cooking again! Anyone have any easy meals to make for one? Let me know! Also, thinking about challenging myself with a clothes shopping freeze for the month of February! Anyone with me?! Can we be accountability buddies because I know it’ll be hard.

3. Be more focused on self-care – My anxiety is still at an all-time high, wreaking havoc on my body and my skin. I need more water. I need to move more. Ugh. Let’s be better to ourselves this next month. CBD oil is trending and I’m thinking of giving it a shot, or at least in topical form to help with my back pain. Hoping to report happier things in four weeks!

4. Be open to possibilities – Well. I’ve gone on a date. I’m still swiping. Nothing left to report on this front lol

Reflecting on these four intentions was awesome to do. I’ve clearly been very honest with myself and two things seem to be going fairly well. Now it’s about being consistent with goals 1 & 2, and putting more into 3 &4!

Am thinking this will be a monthly update going forward through the rest of the year.
