Rocking the Fringe

Happy Monday, friends!

I recently made a drastic chop to my hair, including some fringe (aka bangs, aka divas). Since I typically part my hair in the middle, these things have been quite the challenge to tame, but I’m slowly managing.

PG-101

Here are 3 things you need to consider before getting bangs:

  1. Maintenance – from trims to product, these bangs are work! Be ready to commit!
  2. Time – if I don’t wash my hair everyday, then the bangs are up. They are long enough already to get in a high pony. I’ve worn them down about five times since I’ve cut them two weeks ago. Before bangs I could just throw in some dry shampoo and go, now I’ve got to put in the work to wash them, blow them dry with a round brush, flat iron, texturizer, and hairspray. I’m ready for them to be a little longer so I can make them more winged, more boho.
  3. Boldness – How bold do you want to go? I was inspired to chop my hair and get bangs by Courtney Kerr and Sienna Miller, but there are different styles of bangs. Do you want blunt, do you want Bridget Bardot? Do you want wispy, parted down the middle, like long layers. It’s a lot to consider.

When I went to cut my hair, the stylist said that she thought the bangs would look great on my face shape, but did I really want bangs or was I just having a moment? I thought that was hilarious. For me, this was a fun change, I just need to be better about styling them!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Christmas is coming early, y’all! That is what the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is to me! I have been shopping the #Nsale since before I was blogging. Typically, I shop the sale with my mom in San Antonio, but now that I’m living in Houston, I’m thinking I’ll shop online with curbside pick-up!

The sale’s early access will begin July 12th for Nordstrom cardholders. Cardholders – exciting stuff – if you have a triple points day to use, YOU CAN! On the 20th, the sale will be open to the public.

What I love about the sale? That new pieces are at an all-time low for a limited time! Prices will go back up August 6th. That means that this is the optimal time to stock up on all the trends for Fall.

My plan on attack for this sale is pretty simple this year: Essentials. This means jeans, booties, bras. In previous years, I’ve gone absolutely BANANAS at this sale, and I am going to try to keep it to six things. Some of you messaged me on Insta saying I couldn’t and shouldn’t do that to myself, so we’ll see if I crack.

In the meantime, here’s a summer look and can you spot the change? That’s right, I did a major chop last week. I’m still adjusting to the fringe on my forehead and the new length, so give me some time to tame these divas (otherwise known as, bangs).

An Event to Remember

An Event to Remember

Hi all and happy FriYAY!

I took a break from posting on the blog for the past two weeks and it felt good to not pressure myself to hammer out some content. I spent time with my family, I picked up a good book, and I attended a fabulous event hosted by RewardStyle!

I drove the two hours to Austin, met my mom at the event, and ran in to so many familiar faces! I absolutely loved meeting bloggers that I follow in real life!

It was SO DANG HOT at Mattie’s Austin, and I most certainly didn’t dress for the heat, but the event was absolutely amazing! I loved chatting with the Influencer Support gals from RewardStyle about how to continue to grow my brand.

Scroll down for some major event Inspo (photos courtesy of RewardStyle)!
